This year’s calendar also features ballerina Michaela DePrince – a Sierra Leone born ballet dancer who was adopted by a couple in New Jersey. Michaela went on live her dream and became a professional ballet dancer. Michaela was a long term member of the AVRF having been diagnosed with vitiligo as a young child.
Purchase of the vitiligo calendar supports the American Vitiligo Research Foundation. The AVRF hosts an annual children’s retreat, sponsors research, wrote the first children’s book on vitiligo “Ryan’s Vitiligo” and many other programs.
